Asparagus in the Montreal Area

Posted by in Healthy Food Choices

Where to? Rumor mills were out there a few days ago, that Asparagus was being harvested in our area. That is near Montreal, about 50 miles east of where I live in Eastern Ontario. And so I went for a drive to see what I could see, and report back! I bought it fresh, and wrapped, about 1/2 hour out of the field! A friend of mine from Agriculture College days about 40 years ago, has grown Asparagus not too far from this farm, although the one I’m looking at here is a bigger organization who do more multitasking! The farm I’m referring to is called “La Ferme Quinn” (The Quinn Farm) which is located at 2495 Boulevard Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-L’Isle-Perrot, QC, J7V-8P4. Or for those of you who prefer their GPS, the coordinates are 45.3582339N, 73.9244270W or 45º21’29.6″ N, 73º55’27.9″ W

Enjoy a day with nature, fresh exercise and fresh food about 10 minutes off of the highway #20. For more information, go to Quinn Farm. You’ll find Apple Orchards in full bloom currently along with lots of honey bees very busy there, following this past lengthy winter and cooler than usual spring season. But Before jumping in your car and spending a whole day out with your family, be sure to go to their web and get the info you need!
