Say No to Drugs to Treat Nerve Back Pain

The best way to treat nerve back pain without the use of prescribed drugs is to actually prevent it from even happening in the first place. It is good to know that there are drugs out there and or therapies that can help improve or cure a person’s illness but prevention will always be better than treating an affliction. Here are some of the tips that can help prevent nerve back pains without the use of drugs:

  • Stretching: Before you go through a strenuous activity, one of the best things that you could do to prevent back pains is to do some stretching. One of the most reliable stretching methods that you could do would be AIS or Active Isolated Stretching which was developed by Aaron Mattes and is a unique way of stretching.

  • Posture: This may sound simple but the fact is that a lot of people are not conscious about their posture and tend to slouch a lot of times regardless if they are standing or sitting. This is unhealthy and may eventually result in back pain in the near future. However, by practicing sitting or standing up straight, you can improve your overall body posture which eventually lessens the chances of you experiencing back pain in the future.

  • Sitting: When you are sitting, always make it a point to have your head back with your ears over your shoulders and your shoulder blades pinched. By practicing this posture, it will encourage proper alignment to your spine which lessens the occurrence of back pains. Make it a point to do this on an hourly basis whenever you are sitting, holding your muscles tight for several minutes.

  • Comfort and Movement:  Make sure that you sit on chairs or car seats with good lumbar support. Switching from one positioning to another once in a while like walking around or gently doing some stretching also helps relieve tension. Also avoid bending over without supporting your back. Wearing comfortable low-heel shoes is highly encouraged for women. Sleep on your side because it encourages a better alignment for your spine and make sure that you are sleeping on a flat surface.

  • Lifting: If you visit the gym on a regular basis to lift weights or you regularly lift weights at home, make sure that you use your legs when you lift and keep your back straight.

  • Health: Be conscious of your weight and have a balanced diet. Consulting a physician or a personal trainer for an optimal exercise regimen and diet will help keep yourself healthy and lessen the occurrence of back pains. It also goes without saying that you should refrain from smoking since it contributes to the spinal discs degeneration. Also make sure that you wake up early and expose yourself to morning sunlight since it is a good source of Vitamin D which strengthens bones. Drinking a lot of water also enhances the height of your intervertebral disks and helps keep your body fluid as oppose to being stiff and brittle.

By being aware of these preventive measures and applying them in your daily life, you can reduce the chances of developing back pains. Think positive and let your body heal the natural way.
